Donna D’Errico, former Baywatch star, has clapped back at the “hater women” who have repeatedly attempted to block her sultry content on social media. At 56, the former Playboy Playmate is unapologetically proud of her flawless body and has no patience for online critics. Her message to them? “Kiss my a**.”
Why is Donna D’Errico getting so much attention (and heat) for her photos? Keep reading to find out!
After rising to fame as a Playboy centerfold in September 1995, Donna D’Errico spent two years running in slow-motion through the sand in a red swimsuit on the iconic Baywatch series. From 1996 to 1998, she played the role of Donna Marco, alongside Pamela Anderson, both of whom were married to members of the heavy metal band Mötley Crüe.
Despite her early success, the mother of two faced struggles in Hollywood and often found herself sidelined from leading roles. However, in the realm of social media, the 56-year-old is a superstar with millions of followers—mostly men who admire her daring, sexy photos.
The Bikini Backlash
Not everyone is a fan of Donna’s online presence. Over the past few years, she’s faced criticism from trolls who believe she should cover up at her age. The most significant backlash came in July 2022 when she posted a video celebrating the 4th of July. Wearing a red, white, and blue string bikini, she posted the video with “God Bless the U.S.A.” playing in the background.
While the post received praise from many of her fans, it was also met with harsh comments from some women who claimed she was “too old to wear a bikini” or “desperate.” In response, she shared another photo, defiantly squatting on a coffee table in a different string bikini, and captioned it:
“Quite a few women complained about the 4th of July video I posted in a red, white & blue bikini because they thought I was ‘classier than that’ and ‘too old to wear a bikini’ and, my favorite, ‘desperate.’ Let me tell you something that might surprise you. I can actually wear and do literally whatever I want. On that note, here is me in a bikini squatting on a coffee table.”
Censored Content and the “Hater Women”
D’Errico claims that many of her photos are flagged and removed by Instagram due to reports from “hater women.” She says that a group of women has repeatedly reported her posts, causing her content to be shadow-banned and removed.
“It’s not nice to go on people’s accounts reporting perfectly fine photos and videos to cause their account to get flagged,” she wrote in a now-deleted post. “There’s a group of women haters who routinely report all of my posts because it makes them feel better about themselves to see a thriving, confident woman get shadow-banned and have to keep taking down all of her posts.”
She continued, “Using technology to bully is still, in fact, bullying. And Donna doesn’t get bullied.”
Refusing to back down, D’Errico has been re-uploading the photos that are shadow-banned, meaning her content is blocked from being fully visible to her audience. In one post, she shared a photo where she’s straddling a pumpkin in a black corset and thigh-high boots, writing:
“Here’s another photo that had to be removed in order to lift the shadow ban on my account after a group of women haters went through my account reporting all my posts. There’s nothing wrong with these photos. Hater women: Feel better about yourselves. Build up other women. In doing so, you can shine, too. Failing that, I guess you can simply kiss my ass.”
Continuing the Fight
Despite the continued removal of some of her risque images, Donna D’Errico is not backing down. On June 27, she posted a photo of herself wearing a hot red bikini on Facebook with the caption:
“Yes, still wearing bikinis. Any objections?”
Donna D’Errico’s defiance against the shadow ban on her photos has sparked a conversation about online bullying, body positivity, and the unfair expectations society places on women, particularly as they age.
